Researchers approach industry for commercial software dashboard to link legacy databases for decision-making
ARLINGTON, Va. – U.S. military researchers are looking for commercial software to help them link data from several modern and legacy information systems into a dashboard to help with planning and decision-making.
Officials of the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in Arlington, Va., issued a request for information (DARPA-SN-25-50) last week for the Enterprise-Wide Dashboard and Analytics Solution with Legacy System Integration Capabilities project.
Software dashboards
Effective decision-making relies on the ability to access, visualize, and analyze data from several enterprise systems in real time, DARPA researchers explain. The need for an integrated, automated software dashboard able to connect to legacy systems and modern platforms is crucial for maintaining efficiency and supporting decision-making.
DARPA today has several discrete data systems. These include Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI), Oracle Analytics Server (OAS), Oracle R12, and Microsoft. Collecting, consolidating, and presenting this data manually can delay decision-making processes.
Instead, researchers are seeking an integrated dashboard based on commercially available software to improve decision-making capabilities and reduce manual effort to manage and report data.
Such software should integrate with different enterprise systems and databases; refresh and scheduled reporting capabilities automatically; support manual data entry and updates; update the dashboard in teal time; customize alert systems; and be compatible with local data sources and cloud storage.
Database integration
Of interest are integration with DAI, ECWM, OAS, and Sybase; data refresh and synchronization; security and access control; user interface design; alert and notification systems; system scalability; and application programming interface (API) availability and integration options.
