Maritime security system for situational awareness in anti piracy introduced by Cobham

Cobham Defence Communications in Blackburn, England, is introducing a maritime system to provide naval and coast guard boarding parties with long-range situational awareness and blue force tracking capability through encrypted image and data transfer for anti-piracy and other maritime security applications. The Marine Interdiction Operations System (MIOS) builds on technology developed for the Cobham Integrated Digital Soldier System (IDSS), and provides navigation and guidance, tactical messaging, and sensor integration.
