ALBACETE, Spain - Airbus Helicopters has opened its new logistics hub at Albacete, Spain, which is equipped and operated by Daher as the lead logistics partner.
Airbus Helicopters has unveiled its new 50,000-square-meter warehouse next to its production facility in Albacete, aimed at optimizing operations in the Castilla-La Mancha region.
The design of the new hub was managed by Daher, Airbus Helicopters' logistics service provider. The hub features a highly automated and robotized storage system, the first in the aeronautics industry, utilizing advanced technology from French specialist Exotec.

The new technologies reduce storage space requirements, enhance efficiency and responsiveness, and minimize the need for operator movement around the site. The design focuses on optimizing quality control, reducing human error, maximizing safety, and improving working conditions for operators.
Daher will also provide inter-site transportation using biofuel-powered trucks that cut CO2 emissions by 90% compared to diesel.
The facility will employ over 300 people, with 85 percent being operators recruited and trained by Daher in partnership with the Confederation of Employers of Albacete (FEDA).
“We’re proud to be putting our expertise and innovative capabilities to work for Airbus Helicopters, using technology that positions Daher firmly on the pathway toward Industry 4.0, and fully delivering on the goals of this project,” said Aymeric Daher, CEO of Daher’s Logistics division.
